March 5, 2021

3.5.2021

There is plenty of space for social distancing while enjoying worship with brothers and sisters in Christ. Join us this Sunday, March 7. Worship is at 10:00 am at the Phi Delta Kappa Banquet Hall (pictured above) located at 11311 Phi Delt Way, Odessa, 33556. We will learn from the story of Jesus on trial before the High Priest Caiaphus. After worship, we will continue our study of the book of Colossians, and children’s Sunday School will be offered.

On Sunday morning you can find a pre-recorded service here.

On Sunday morning you can worship with us on Facebook Live at 10 AM.

Thank Offerings: “On the first day of the week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money” –II Corinthians 16:2. Out of thanks to God, we set aside a regular offering to the Lord. Your gifts make a difference as our reach with the gospel has widened online during COVID-19. Please continue your faithful support of proclaiming Him who is The Way, The Truth, The Life. Here are a couple of secure ways to give.

  • Set up a one-time gift or reoccurring gift at our website, click here
  • Donate via text, send the dollar amount you wish to give to 888-314-2975 (Example: $40)
  • Send an offering envelope/check via mail to: Peace Lutheran Church, 3030 Starkey Blvd (Suite 227), Trinity, FL 34655

“LOVE RULES” – a WOMEN OF PEACE BIBLE STUDY
March 9 | 7:00 PM
What do the Ten Commandments do for you? Do they send you on a guilt trip? Are they a mirror of your frailties? Or do they hold life-changing love? The miracle of the Commandments is that even after thousands of years, they still hold everything we need to live in relationship with God and with one another. In this women’s Bible study, you will see yourself and how pride, insecurity, grudges, and coveting damage relationships. Each narrative also shows exactly why we still need Jesus and His perfect, Commandment-keeping love.

All Ladies of Peace are invited to an online Bible Study on Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 PM. A link will be sent out over email. You can also connect through Facebook and our website. If you would like to join, but would like more details, please contact Cindy Cochran (727) 236-7022.

VOLUNTEER – MOONLIGHT EGG MADNESS
Evening of Saturday, March 20, 7-9 PM
Help meet and greet members of the Trinity community at Moonlight Egg Madness – a glow-in-the-dark Easter egg hunt. From 7 PM until dark we will have fun games and activities for families. This is a wonderful way to introduce ourselves to the community, but we need your help to make this event a success. You can sign up to volunteer at our website here. (about midway down the page).

We are limiting attendance this year. Children will be grouped to allow for physical distancing during the egg hunt. As a way to support our community through this event, we are asking attendees to bring an item for the Pasco County Coalition for the Homeless. A list of items needed is below the registration link for the event. The Coalition is currently working to help 250 homeless families into a rental home. They are asking for help in providing essentials for these homes.

HELP PREPARE EASTER INVITATIONS
March 8-15
Could you help sort and prepare Easter invitations going out to our community? We would like to prepare a mailing over the next week.
If you can help please text or email Pastor Schwartz.

A DAY ON THE WATER
Saturday, March 20  |  10:00 AM
Join us for a paddling adventure at Honeymoon Island on Saturday, March 20. You can bring your own kayaks, paddleboards, or other seaworthy toys and meet us on the causeway at St. Joseph Sound at 10:00 am. Pull in at the kayak rental place and we’ll gather just beyond it on the sand. If you need to rent a kayak, rental information is here: www.sailhoneymoon.com/kayak-rentals.
Afterward, bring a picnic lunch to enjoy or gather at one of the many nearby restaurants. It’s sure to be a fun day of fellowship with your church family. Contact Brad Mattes if you have any questions.

SHADOWS OF THE CROSS – THE SCAPEGOAT
Wednesday, March 10 |  6:30 PM to 7:15 PM
God previewed what he would do for his people at the cross of Calvary over and over during Old Testament times. The Passover Lamb, the Sabbath, the Scapegoat, and the Tabernacle are just some of the Shadows of the Cross. This Lenten season, deepen your understanding of your Savior’s journey to the cross and your life as a believer in the New Testament. Join us Wednesday evenings starting February 24 through March 24, 6:30 pm to 7:15 pm, for this online Bible Study.
