Day of Great Comfort!
Today is a day of great comfort for any follower of Jesus who wrestles with doubt concerning Christ’s promises or doubts about God’s Word. Jesus does not come to rebuke Thomas’ weak faith. Jesus comes to strengthen Thomas’ faith, giving him proof of the mind-bending reality of the resurrection—to let him feel it, touch it, explore it. Jesus didn’t reject Thomas. Jesus engaged Thomas and gave him peace. Still today, Jesus comes to his disciples in Word and sacrament. The living Lord speaks to us. He lets us partake of his true body and blood. When we show weakness of faith, he does not reject us. Just as he did with Thomas, today Jesus gives us his peace.
A message from Pastor Sauer as this weekend is his last sermon with us. If you have a chance come on in to thank him and to say goodbye.
Members of Peace,
It has been a real joy and blessing to serve you with the means of grace these past 3 months. As Tina and I head home to Wisconsin, we take with us overwhelming memories of your kindness, smiles, and hugs. “Better than we expected. Better than we deserve.” You are a special congregation and a shining reflection of God’s love to your community. May He bless you with His finest in the months and years to come.
Pastor and Tina Sauer
PASTORAL CARE & COUNSELING
If you would like a visit for spiritual care, don’t hesitate to contact Brad Mattes, our head elder.
Receiving Communion Roster
Before the worship service, we are asking our members to announce their desire to receive the Lord’s Supper on the sign-up sheet located in the entry to the sanctuary.
This will help us keep our records updated and also help with our annual reports to the Synod. If you don’t get the chance to sign the sheet before worship, please do so after the service has ended.
The Bible says, “Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not out of grief nor out of compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8)..
Peace Lutheran offers a secure Give by Text option. To donate via text, send the dollar amount you wish to give, including a dollar sign, to 888-314-2975. Example: $50. You will receive a secure registration link. Another secure option for giving is at our website.
