This active group of ladies is continually serving their Savior here and abroad through community outreach and support of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society (LWMS). Our meetings include a Bible Study, a devotion/mission focus, sometimes a special program and a business meeting.
Some of their projects and events this past year were as follows:
- Our ladies baked and volunteered for the “Taste of Trinity” at Seven Springs Middle School.
- Participated in the Preschool Family Fun Day.
- Coordinated a “Sole Hope Shoe Cutting Party”, cutting shoe parts for Ugandan children who contract severe infections in their feet for lack of shoes.
- Supported our Befriend a Mission churches with prayers and Thanksgiving Cards.
- Heard a special presentation about a member’s military service.
- Provided and delivered Christmas gifts to Peace shut-ins.
- Assembled “goodie bags” for the children who participated in the Christmas program.
- Many of our members helped with the Christmas for Kids.
- Monetary gifts and cards were sent to our Befriend a Mission churches, which were Cross of Life in Mississauga, Ontario and East Asia Lutheran Seminary.
- Enjoyed a Christmas dinner at Angelo’s in Holiday.
- Donated 1000 communion cups and 1000 communion wafers to the LWMS Annual Convention to be held in June 2017 in Orlando.
- Continued our Bible Study, “Giving God Your All”
- Heard a presentation on a wellness business, Melalueca.
- Continued our Sole Hope program by sending parts for 25 more pair of shoes and $250.00 to the Sole Hope headquarters in North Carolina.
- Baked pies for the Pie Social to help the “Building Peace for the Future” Event Committee.
- Made dishes for the annual Easter Breakfast.
- Helped with the “Building Peace for the Future” Appeal.
- Women of Peace enjoyed their annual “Ladies Night Out” at Outback Steakhouse in Trinity.
- Our “Sunshine Lady”, Angela Deitch, sends greetings cards to members who need support. Linda Vandergriff manages our “Caring & Calling” group who helps members who might need help after surgery or illness with meals and prayers.
- All of our members enjoy fellowship with our Christian sisters and we hope to continue our Women of Peace into the Trinity area.
