From the Camp South Director as of May 4, 2020:

Dear Youth Parents,

Even with the coronavirus still causing havoc and challenges across our nation and state, plans are being put in place for Camp South, being held July 20-24 in Georgia. While there are many uncertainties, the Camp South leadership team is remaining watchful, wanting to be ready if it turns we have the opportunity to hold Camp South. Opportunity is defined as the following:

  1. Allowed by federal, state and local governments, and
  2. The FFA camp is operational, and
  3. We have enough participants to make it viable.

Here is how you can help. We can’t control the first two things listed above, but we can be ready by knowing how many campers will come. We are asking that at this time you please register only if you are committed to attending with conditions #1 and 2 above being met. You can register at  https://southatlanticyouth.com/camp-south.  If you are wavering about participating in Camp South 2020, then please do not register at this time.

It costs nothing to register. Camp leadership will bill the churches around June 1.  Leadership is asking people committed to attending to register at this time to help them decide by May 25 about whether or not it is feasible to hold camp with the number of those registering, so the input from congregations is an essential component.

Any questions, please email or contact me, Pastor Schwartz – 727.938.6321.

A Way to Help Others – “Special Delivery”: Some of you have asked how you can help others in need during this time. Here is one option:

Women facing an unexpected pregnancy often have a tough time making ends meet.  During this pandemic, many government resources that women depend upon are closed.  Pro-life pregnancy help centers have experienced an over 40% increase in women reaching out to them.  Here’s where you can help.  It’s called Special Delivery.  Go to Option Line https://optionline.org/findacenter and enter your zip code to find the center near you.  Then call and ask if they have an Amazon or other online wish list you can support.  From the safety and comfort of your home, you can help provide crucial resources that women need.  Items are automatically shipped to the center. If they have no wish list, ask what other way you might be able to help.  Now’s the time to contact your local center to assist women during this pandemic. 100% of what you spend goes directly to the center of your choice.  https://www.lifeissues.org/category/resources/education-tool-news/the-latest/2020-the-latest/
