News & Announcements

June 18, 2023

This week’s Worship Theme: This Sunday is Father’s Day and our worship focuses on the love of our Heavenly Father as displayed in the lives of Christian fathers who love and serve our Savior.  God has a great design for people to live in harmony with one another, love one another, and be at peace with one another and that design is family.  We will never get the plan totally correct this side of Heaven but the perfect example is given in the Bible for us to read, take to heart, and model ourselves after each day of our lives.

Happy Father’s Day! We pray you have a relaxing and fun weekend with your families as you celebrate the blessings of fathers.

Call Meeting This Sunday June 18th
On April 23rd the voters of Peace Lutheran extended a divine call to Pastor John Steinbrenner. Last week, Pastor Steinbrenner returned the call to Peace Lutheran church. This Sunday, June 18th, a voter’s meeting will be held to extend a call to a new pastor. Please plan to attend if you are a member of Peace.

CONTINUE ON CONTINUING ON
Peace Lutheran Church is in the process of calling a new pastor to serve the saints in our congregation.  The prayer is that our new pastor would be a Spirit filled servant like those who have served in the past to properly divide law and Gospel.  That means to continue to call souls to repentance like the call of Matthew and continue to serve our Savior whether it be as a pastor or parishioner.  God has called us all to tell His saving news.

Today’s Worship Theme:
Today is Trinity Sunday where we worship our three in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Trinity is a profound doctrine that must be accepted by faith. Accepting a doctrine by faith does not exclude reason, but it also means that we cannot always apply the same logic that we use in mathematics. Without the Trinity, the Christian doctrine of salvation cannot stand.

The Day of Pentecost
It is now 50 days after Easter, the day of Pentecost.  On this day the New Testament Church had its beginning with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to fill the disciples with evangelical faith to go out into all the world and proclaim the saving news of Jesus.  It is also Memorial Day weekend in America where we honor and remember those who served to preserve our precious freedoms which includes our freedom to gather and worship.  We honor and remember those who gave the supreme sacrifice of their lives in the armed forces of our country.

Ascension of Our Lord
40 days after Easter Jesus ascended up to Heaven.  We celebrate His ascension and our future ascension in this Sunday’s service.  The words from I Peter, spelled hard times for struggling and suffering Christians.  The enemy was identified and the defense was beautifully described for Christians of all time.
