News & Announcements

December 23, 2022

The first Christmas sermon was preached to a small congregation consisting entirely of shepherds. The preacher was an angel. The message of his sermon? “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you.” That is a heavy word: Savior. It says as much about us as it does about this child.

Join us on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as we ponder again the birth of the Son of God, the Savior of the World.

Our 7:00 PM Christmas Eve service will feature lessons and carols.

Our 10:00 AM Christmas Day service will be a service of praise to our newborn king and Savior

Our Call to Pastor Philip Gurgel
Please help us share with Pastor Gurgel the wonderful opportunities and the ripe harvest fields of the Trinity area, as Peace starts it’s new chapter. The Council encourages each of you to email him and his family to explain our Peace church family, community and your reasons for him to be our Pastor at Gurgelpj@gmail.com. You can also txt or call at 262-888-9369, but please keep in mind he is one hour behind us and has a fulltime job during a very busy Christmas season and may not be able to take your call or get back to you in a timely manner. Let us All keep Pastor Gurgel, his family, Trinity Church in Waukesha and Peace in our prayers as we work through this Call process.

Pastoral Care & Counseling
During the Coming Month

During this coming month, if you would like a visit for spiritual care, don’t hesitate to contact Brad Mattes, our head elder.

If you need pastoral care or counseling, you can call or text Pastor Matthew Guse at Northdale Lutheran in Tampa until Christmas Eve. Pastor Guse’s cell is: 920-517-9000. His email is: pastor@northdalelutheran.org.

After Christmas Eve, Pastor Hunter from Wesley Chapel, who will be providing our Christmas Eve service, will be on call until after the New Year. His cell is 813-788-4126.

Pastor Steve Sauer (recently retired) is scheduled to arrive at Peace Lutheran the first week of January 2023. He will serve as Peace continues to call a permanent pastor.

Bible Study
Our weekly Bible Study on Wednesday evening will resume after the New Year. If interested, please contact Bill Longhenry. Exact time and start date will be determined once Pastor Sauer gets settled in.

Dear Members of Peace Lutheran Church, Trinity FL,

Thank You for your donation of so many colorful and thoughtful Letters to Our Troops. They were sent out with other donations we collected in time to bring a little bit of home to our deployed service members. They warm their hearts and help decorate their tents and day rooms during this holiday season. If any of your members would like to know other ways to donate needed items, please go to our webpage for more information: www.operationgratitude.com

Advent is necessary, it enables us to understand the true significance of Christmas. Advent allows us to see that because of what Christ did when he came the first time, believers need not fear when he comes again. Instead, we yearn for it. Come, Lord Jesus!

Preparing for Christmas
This is not the Messiah who came. Jesus defies the expectations of Israel, the world, and us. Jesus reminds us that “blessed” is a term that he defines, and it begins with not rejecting the Messiah because he fails to meet our expectations. One proof that Jesus is the Messiah is that he fulfilled every prophecy. Therefore, blessed people respond to adverse circumstances with patient waiting and confidence that, at just the right time, their Messiah will fix all that is broken in their lives.

Preparing for Christmas
Does Jesus’ appearance on earth give you joy or regret? For those who fail to repent, the coming of the Jesus as Judge will bring certain doom. But God’s people, believers, will see that Judge like a banner on the hilltop, rallying us to his glorious side. Prepare your heart to worship Jesus your King and Judge, this Sunday at 10:00 am. This Sunday we will celebrate another baptism as well!
