December 10, 2021

Advent Worship This Sunday: Last Sunday we heard God’s messenger announce: Repent, the Lord is Near! This week we see that we can rejoice in Jesus drawing near to us. He brings the gift of his grace, undeserved love, for us! Join us for Advent Worship at 10:00 AM at the Phi Delta Kappa Hall located at 11311 Phi Delt Way, Odessa, 33556. Children’s Sunday School and Adult Bible Study are offered as well.

Bring Christmas joy and cheer to those members of our church who are not able to get out at this time. Join the group of Christmas Carolers going to Peace shut-in members. We will meet at Pastor’s home on Tuesday evening at 5:00 PM and travel to a few different member homes. This will be an outdoor activity. Afterward, we will return to Pastor’s backyard and enjoy some hot chocolate around the fire.

CHRISTMAS 2021 SCHEDULE
December 24, 25, 26
Come hear about the child who lived for us, died for us, and rose from the dead for us. God sent his son into the world to bring peace and joy meant for you. Our Christmas worship will feature children proclaiming the message of Christmas, favorite Christmas carols and worship of the child who came to save us. Make plans to join us. Take an invitation card with you and invite a neighbor or friend.

This event has been growing in popularity for youth in our district over the last few years. It provides youth from our churches an opportunity to get together outside the summer months and Camp South. Youth have the option of snowboarding, skiing, or tubing/sledding at the mountain top activities center in Ober Gatlinburg, TN. In addition, they will take part in other winter games and activities, devotions, a scavenger hunt, and a special worship service on Sunday morning. I would be glad to help arrange transportation and attend (There is the option of flying, there are flight options into Asheville, NC and Great Smoky Mtns National Park near Ober, TN). Parents are welcome to attend and participate as a chaperone.

Here are more details:

  • Dates: Friday, February 4 through Sunday, February 6
  • Cost: $195 Tubers/Sledding, $215 Skiers and Snowboarders – this price includes lodging at the ski mountain, all activities, a t-shirt and three meals Saturday and breakfast on Sunday and a pizza lunch on Sunday after church. (The price also includes a beginner lesson for skiers and snowboarders)
  • Schedule: includes activities Friday evening through Sunday morning. Saturday is a day of skiing, tubing or snowboarding.
