Advent Worship This Sunday:By this time of the holiday season, we might feel weighed down. Presents are not perfect, parties did not go as planned, or year-end projects did not get completed. Maybe we admit our spiritual preparation for Jesus’ birth – the reason for the season – leaves something to be desired. If that is how we feel, perhaps the frenzy of December has actually done us a favor. We have been stretched to our limits. We have been made aware of our shortcomings. We have been humbled. Perfect! For being made aware of our weaknesses does not disqualify us from God’s care. It does the opposite. It is what prepares us for the work he does best. He is a God who lifts up the humbled. Join us for Advent Worship at 10:00 AM at the Phi Delta Kappa Hall located at 11311 Phi Delt Way, Odessa, 33556. Children’s Sunday School and Adult Bible Study are offered as well.
SPECIAL CHRISTMAS WEEK SCHEDULE
December 24, 25, 26
God sent his Son into the world to bring peace and joy meant for you. Make plans to join us.
- Friday, December 24, Christmas Eve will feature Christmas Carols and the children proclaiming the good news of a Savior born in Bethlehem.
- Saturday, December 25, Christmas Day is a day when we talk about the glory of God showing up in humble ways for us and our salvation! One of the ways God does that is in Holy Communion. We celebrate Holy Communion on Christmas Day.
- Sunday, December 26 we will have worship at our normal time of 10 AM. We will continue to sing Christmas carols and fill our hearts with the joy of Jesus at Christmas.
Fruits of Faith
Consider your commitment to Furnishing Peace for the Future. Maybe now is a good time to fulfill the commitment you made to help with furnishing those important elements of worship for our new church home, furnishings that will point us to Christ our Savior – the altar and pulpit and font. If you have any questions about your commitment and where you are, you can contact Ricky LeSeur. His email is ricky_leseur@hotmail.com.
Gifts of Thanksgiving: The Bible says, “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.” –Proverbs 3:9. God wants us to give of our first and the best of the resources he provides for us.

This event has been growing in popularity for youth in our district over the last few years. In addition, they will take part in other winter games and activities, devotions, a scavenger hunt, and a special worship service on Sunday morning. I would be glad to help arrange transportation and attend (There is the option of flying, there are flight options into Asheville, NC and Great Smoky Mtns National Park near Ober, TN). Parents are welcome to attend and participate as a chaperone.
