1.29.2021
Worship is at 10:00 am on Sunday at the Phi Delta Kappa Banquet Hall located at 11311 Phi Delt Way, Odessa, 33556.
This Sunday’s Worship Theme: Jesus reveals his hidden glory by casting out evil. Wherever the gospel of Jesus is preached and taught – there the devil is working hard to undo what Jesus is doing. The devils’ goal is always to separate us from Jesus and God’s Word. The gospel of Jesus is and will always be more powerful. May we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and his Word. Join us at 10:00 am! We will continue our new Bible Study following worship – “Jesus is Enough” a study of the book of Colossians.
On Sunday morning you can find a pre-recorded service here.
On Sunday morning you can worship with us on Facebook Live.

LENT BEGINS FEBRUARY 17
Ash Wednesday | 4:00 PM
Whether they were lifted to bless God’s chosen people or to stone God’s chosen prophets, hands in the Bible are rarely noticed but always in action. Our Lenten series, “The Hands of the Passion” explores the many roles hands played during the Passion History, from waving palm branches to nailing our Savior to the cross. Join us on Ash Wednesday and Sundays during Lent as we ponder how the one who holds the world in his hands allowed those hands to be pierced and nailed to a cross – all in love for us. Ash Wednesday worship is at the Phi Delta Kappa Banquet Hall. Our Ash Wednesday service is at 4:00 PM on February 17.
THE NEW TESTAMENT – NEW WEEKDAY BIBLE STUDY
Starting the week of Feb. 8 | Day and Time TBD (Day and Time will be agreed upon by those enrolling)
Would you enjoy college-level theological courses taught locally? The Congregational Assistant Program (CAP) is under the guidance of Martin Luther College. CAP assists congregations in training qualified and confident leaders in their Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) congregations. CAP provides a range of biblical and practical courses available to all WELS members to help them grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Members can grow in their grasp of Bible history and doctrine, Christian leadership, and the family. CAP also encourages and supports WELS members as they discover and develop their God-given talents and abilities to serve others and to glorify God in the church, community, and the world.
All members of Peace are welcome to take the courses even if they are not enrolled in CAP. If you would like to learn more, speak with Pastor Schwartz, or, go to www.mlc-wels.edu/cap/.
The next course will be “The New Testament.” Course Description: This twelve-lesson course is an overview of the early history of the Christian Church as described in the New Testament. It is a brief look at the Gospels, followed by examination of the Acts of the Apostles, the letters written by Paul, Peter, John, and others, and the book of Revelation. This class will mostly be taught online. The day and time of each class is flexible and is agreed upon by the class participants.
NEW WEEKDAY BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITY Wednesdays | 6:30 PM
Before Bethlehem, the Messiah made appearances in the Old Testament, often as the “Angel of the Lord.” Join fellow Christians from our sister churches in the Tampa area as we study these Bible Stories together. This Wednesday Pastor Schwartz will lead a study on Exodus 3 and the Angel of the Lord speaking to Moses at the burning bush. Class is online, via Zoom, at 6:30 pm on Wednesday evenings.
STAYING CONNECTED IN CHRIST THROUGH COVID – A SURVEY
Gathering with fellow Christians for mutual encouragement is an important part of our Christian walk. We gather around God’s Word to be strengthened in our faith and to encourage one another. We want to offer some opportunities outside of Sunday morning where we can enjoy Christian fellowship. What would you envision participating in with fellow brothers and sisters in the faith? Our leadership values your opinion. If you have not already, please take a moment to complete our survey linked below to let us know a few of the activities you might enjoy.
